Testek Sells 787 Generator Test Stand to ANA Airlines

.. Testek is proud to announce that ANA has chosen Testek as their trusted supplier for a new Electrical Power Generation Component Test Stand to test B787 starter generators oled technology on mobile phone at their facility in Nagasaki, Japan. With ANA having fifty-five (55) aircraft on order, Testek's test stand will be providing quality service for ANA for many years to come. The B787, dubbed as the latest generation electric airplane, will generate approximately 1 MW of electric power during flight using two (2), 250 kVA variable frequency starter generators mounted on each main engine. The APU includes a 225 kVA auxiliary generator for ground operations. Therefore, it is imperative to have a highly reliable testing facility to ensure that these generators are tested in accordance with the CMMs and the OEMs (Hamilton Sundstrand) standards. Testek will be supplying this equipment with Hamilton Sundstrand's concurrence to ANA that Testek is the most-qualified supplier for this important decision.

Testek's state-of-the-art Electrical Power Generation Component Test Stand, Model 101690, will put the B787 generators through stringent testing requirements that the B787 will demand throughout its high power electrical requirements during flights across the world. The test stand includes a 600 HP drive motor, multi-speed output gearbox, hydraulic supply for cooling, load bank for loading the generators and a control console that includes TestEx® software that is proven in the industry. The test stand is configured to be universal in nature and can support testing of electrical power generation components such as IDGs, generators, VSCFs, VFSGs, etc. on ANA's existing fleet such as A320, B737, B747, B767, B777, Q400, CRJ, etc.
