easyJet and CTC celebrate record breaking mutual landmarks

PRLog (Press Release) – May 24, 2011 – World leading airline training company, CTC Aviation Group plc has provided type rating training for a staggering 2,000 plus easyJet pilots.  Carolyn McCall, easyJet's Chief Executive visited CTC in March to celebrate this landmark and mark a partnership between the two companies that spans the 15 years since the UK's largest airline began operations.     easyJet is one of the world's top ten biggest airlines.  Since 1995 the airline has not only entrusted CTC with providing Boeing and Airbus type rating training for over 2,000 of their pilots, but easyJet pilots have also attended more than 3,600 additional courses such as training the trainer courses for the airline's future training captains, examiner courses for existing training staff, command training programmes for upgrading pilots, simulator assessments for pilot selection and other regulatory training courses. Additionally, more than 1,000 graduates of CTC's pilot training programme "CTC Wings" have joined the airline over the years.

For me, this strong foundation is fantastic and gives us the ability to develop and build an even stronger future" said Carolyn McCall during her visit to CTC's Airbus and Boeing simulator training facility in Southampton.  "CTC is one of our key suppliers and we see this as one of our most important partnerships.  As our preferred supplier of cadet pilots, we will continue to work together with CTC to ensure we get the best cadet pilots joining the easyJet team."

Chris Hope, Head of Flight Operations for easyJet, who has worked closely with CTC for many years, accompanied Ms McCall on the visit and commented "CTC provides the highest quality training for both our new and experienced pilots. As our preferred pilot supplier we continue to work closely with them on a variety of new concepts that we are determined to drive forward and which Carolyn wholeheartedly supports."

Chris Clarke, CTC's founder and Group Chairman hosted the visit and presented Ms McCall with a special celebratory memento. During the presentation he commented on the exceptional history of collaboration that exists between CTC and easyJet and praised the airline's amazing and rapid growth into one of the worlds most successful airlines saying  "Over the years we have developed many successful and innovative solutions together – our long and thriving relationship reflects the mutual desire that we both share for the provision of the highest quality of training; our own dedication and commitment to my photo and wallpaper support the company for many years to come remains as strong as ever."

Last year easyJet confirmed CTC as their preferred supplier of pilots for the next 5 years.  In November 2010, CTC announced 1086274749  a record year having placed over 260 newly qualified "CTC Wings" pilots with easyJet over the year. In the first quarter of 2011, an average of 25 CTC Wings pilots per month were entering the airline and the total for the year is again expected to be at record levels as the airline continues to expand throughout Europe.
