Evaluating a Cell Phone Repair Shop

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 16, 2011 – The number of expensive smart phones being sold is exploding. From the iPhone my photo and wallpaper to the many Droid variants, cell phones are not only getting more sophisticated and expensive, but the larger and larger glass touchscreens are making these high-end cell phones more fragile.

So should you drop that phone and crack the screen (or encounter some other problem), you may find yourself looking for a cell phone repair shop to fix your phone for you. With all the new phones coming on to the market, you will find that you have a number of options for companies to do the repair. So which one do you choose?

Start by visiting the websites of the various companies in your area. If a company doesn't have a website, that's a big warning sign. Assuming they do have one, figure out their primary services? If this is a company that primarily fixes computers or sells cell phones, they may not have a great expertise in cell phone repair. They may just offer the service to try to make some extra cash. Also check out the companies history on their website and figure out how long they've been around.

A website should also indicate where a company is located (if not, a quick search on Google Maps should do the trick). They will preferably have an office or retail space. Beware of people working out of their house, car, or parents' basement. Not having a dedicated work space doesn't automatically mean bad service, but it's a big indicator that a company hasn't been around long or doesn't plan on being in business for a long time.

Next, see if you can find reviews for them online. Yelp and/or a company Facebook page are good places to start. What you're obviously looking for are positive reviews on the company. If there aren't many reviews, there's a good chance they haven't fixed a lot of phones. High-end cell phone users tend to be pretty vocal about the things they like and dislike.

Lastly, give the company a call. A three minute chat with someone that works there can tell you a lot. Are they friendly? Do they know what they're talking about? Does it sound like they've fixed the problem before? If you couldn't find many reviews on the company in the last step, ask them where you might read customer reviews about them?

The 531276856 oled technology on mobile phone  cell phone repair industry is growing as the number of smart phones on the market explodes. Like any industry, there are some good and some bad businesses out there. The above process won't take you long and it can save you some serious headaches, time, and money.
